Liberty Electric Product is seeking an organized, go-getter with a positive can-do attitude to be a full-time Outside Salesperson. This position offers a potential salary range of $50,000-$100,000 commission based, there is a guaranteed minimum salary up to the first year of employment. Liberty Electric Products is an electrical equipment representative/distributor with a manufacturer-assigned territory of Upstate New York. We offer a full product line with pipe, wire, fittings, lighting, electric heat, snow melting, transformers, and many other products that we sell to electrical and mechanical distributors and contractors.

Outside Salesperson Job Responsibilities:

  • Increasing business by generating sales to new customers and by selling additional products to existing customers.
  • Visiting customers every day with product samples and literature to educate our customers on our offering.
  • Grows profitable market share by presenting value-added services. Keep current with information on competitive products, customers’ machinery, processes, and business objectives. Updates customers on new products and technologies as appropriate.
  • Prospects for new accounts within a specified geographical territory.
  • Pursues product applications utilizing personal knowledge, internal specialists or other internal resources, vendor representatives and other available sources.
  • Establishes and maintains customer relationships. Learns and evaluates customer operations to aid in identifying customer objectives, requirements, and preferences.
  • Processes product quotations and provides continuous follow up throughout the completion of the customer's purchasing cycle.
  • Gathers and reports to management information regarding the company, competitors, pricing, products, and current and future market trends as well as assists management and vendors in planning, tracking, and implementing sales strategies and developing new markets.
  • Achieves and maintains technical capabilities at required levels, attends customer seminars, schools, and special promotions, and participates in sales meetings, vendor seminars and training schools to enhance and maintain personal and product knowledge.
  • Works with inside team to provide customer quotes and then leads the follow up process to ensure that Liberty win’s the business.

Compensation Summary:

· Potential salary range of $50,000-$100,000 commission based, there is a guaranteed minimum salary up to the first year of employment.

Outside Salesperson Qualifications / Skills:

  • 3 – 5 years sales experience in the construction or hardware industry. This includes home improvement stores as well as industry specific distribution.
  • Track record of success in business-to-business sales.
  • Excellent verbal and written communications skills including the ability to convincingly persuade others.
  • Ability to set goals clearly and effectively
  • Computer literacy
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule and occasional overnight travel.
  • In-office time will be generally limited to early-morning and late-afternoon, with most of the time being out in the field performing direct selling activities in front of prospective customers

Experience

  • Minimum of 3 years technical sales, proven outside sales experience with a tangible product OR 2+ years customer service / inside sales experience with electrical or construction products.

Travel

  • Up to 60% of workweek will be spent visiting current and prospect clients. Very limited overnight travel.
  • Valid driver’s license and satisfactory driving record (MVR)

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $50,000.00 - $100,000.00 per year
